Digital Student App

Goal: Tasked by Digital Seat Media, my team and I collaborated to develop a mental health app aimed at supporting students and raising awareness around mental health issues. We focused on creating innovative and secure methods for students to scan QR codes to be used as a discreet communication tool to notify a professional when they need help.

Problem: Mental health should be taken seriously, as it is a critical issue. Many students struggle to feel comfortable discussing serious concerns in a safe and supportive environment. Factors such as stigma, fear of judgment, lack of awareness, and perceived barriers to accessing help often prevent them from seeking the support they need.

Solution: Students can choose how they interact with the technology, whether through branded digital lanyards or discreet wristbands. This flexibility allows them to seek help confidentially, making it an ideal solution, especially since students are rarely without their phones. It enables schools to gather valuable insights without compromising student safety or privacy. In addition, the platform offers a range of resources, including access to student support services, the latest news, problem-reporting tools, scholarship applications, standardized test assistance, and much more, thus providing comprehensive support to help students succeed.

The app was developed using Vue.js. I was responsible for building the Latest News carousel, as well as two medium-sized card layouts focused on the Homecoming Vote and Merchandise. It was a rewarding experience collaborating with my team on a project designed to empower students and make it easier for them to confidently seek help when needed.
